New river sketches from Jenna Bauer in New York

My girl Jenna Bauer, who has left us, for the time being, to live and work in the Hudson Valley, sent me these images today of recent river sketches, the first from the grounds of the Vanderbilt Mansion (on 9-13-08) and the other from the grounds of Olana, home of Frederick Church (on 10-1-08).

She said of the Olana sketch that "the sky was tumultuous, and ever changing, thus the possible 'over-worked, criticism," but I don't have that criticism of the piece at all. I love it.

She also sent a scanned collage with a sports motif - a "potential new direction for my work" - which I'll post separately because it is so different.

This weekend, she has her first show in New York at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, as part of an open studio. That shop has a Flickr site where Jenna's friends can see where she has been hanging out and working lately.

She'll be home around Thanksgiving, and you'll find us at The Tap Room!

This link was buried inside a previous post linked from this post. Why do I make you work so hard?
