I just set up a blog for K. Curtis Lyle, where Curtis and I will be uploading his poetry and journalism to establish an online archive of his work.
The first post I did was somewhat utilitarian, to get his great poem of 9/11 Nailed Seraphim out there where artists can find it. Nailed Seraphim is the subject of the 2008 Poetry Scores Art Invitational, to be held Friday, Nov. 21 at Hoffman LaChance Contemporary, 3100 Sutton Blvd. in Maplewood, Mo.
A number of artists will respond to Nailed Seraphim and name their respective pieces after a verbatim scrap of language from the poem. The work will then be displayed and positioned around the space, according to where in the poem the language chosen for the title of the artwork appears. The work will be sold on silent auction.
More about all of this soon!
