She is set to pop with what she calls "the wildest burlesque showcase yet, chock full of beautiful ladies, great food, hot live music and more entertainment than you can shake a stick at."
The show will go on, and a few garments will come discretely and tastefully off, on Saturday, September 6 at Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp Avenue in St. Louis.
This "Extra Frisky Edition of Lola van Ella's Burlesque Showcase" will feature the incomparable Lola van Ella herself, plus The Alley Cat Revue, including Foxy LeFeelion, Greta Garter, GoGo McGregor and Roxy Red Rockets. Also on the bill will be the physics-defying Gravity Plays Favorites; the hot hot hot Sturdy Gurlesque; the Hound Dog himself, Clownvis; the gender-bending Siren; and Maggie McMuffins, Ooh la la Christina and Shara.
From Kansas City come Gilda Lily, Richard Stroker and SueFire; and from Minneapolis, fresh from a star turn at the Republican National Convention, comes local girl-made-good Tomahawk Tassels.
(Just kidding about that RNC bit.)
Local psychobillies 7 Shot Screamers will provide live music, and there will be a burlesque bazaar. Tickets are $20 per person, and include BBQ on the outside patio. All that, and charity, as a portion of the proceeds will go benefit several local animal charities and shelters.
For more information and reservations, please contact Lola van Ella at lolavanella [@] gmail.com. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with the Q, the show must go on at 8 p.m. and the doors won't close until 1:30 a.m.
Off Broadway is a smoke-free establishment, but Lola herself is smoking hot. This hot photo of her is borrowed from her MySpace page. Lola also is burning up the YouTube. I recently did a sit-down interview with our girl over lunch at Mangia that I'll write up before her big night. She's a smart, hard-working, indeed visionary girl - and certainly lives up to her motto, "the derriere beyond compare"!
